Absolutely amazing food! The service was just as amazing! Good food, good drinks, amazing ambience! Definitely would highly recommend it anybody.

Restaurant atmosphere and cleanliness were great. Also, food and service were great. I had a good salad for lunch.

Stopped in for Happy Hour. Cool Atmosphere with a lot of VIP Customers (some famous) Pictures on the walls. The Crab Dip was REALLY GOOD, Blackened Chicken Burger OK, and seafood Etouffee was Excellent. Waitress put in the wrong items order, but they made it right,

Staff were pleasant and dressed up old style. The restaurant design is old school but it is fun to look at the relics on the wall. This is not an independent restaurant, but part of a big chain. The food was decent but not remarkable. Service was quick and they have a number of fun cocktails.

Stuffed fish is my Kryptonite! When recently checking my friends 'Beatles review,' cover band nextdoor at the hotel, I passed by Jake's. I was not hungry, not yet. We'd already eaten a plethora of some of the best hand made dumplings and Chinese offerings ever so it's not like I needed it. But I couldn't resist and, having been let down earlier in the week by another DDD reviewed Regional seafood restaurant; my craving was unfulfilled - until Jake's! We rolled in at 20 till closing to the bar area and were met with prompt friendly service, and an ethos that used to be the norm at fine San Francisco seafood establishments, wood-paneled elegance and a classiness that hearkened to the 1890s. The crab and shrimp stuffed salmon was flanked by mash and asparagus, and was super tender and perfectly presented with a classic buerre blanc. To be unduly philosophical, this dish was (according to Plato) the divine form of stuffed fish from the above world of ideals, bestowed below for us mere mortals to see how the gods eat stuffed fish (hold the ambrosia)! I cannot speak highly enough of all the notes hit in this simple yet unparalleled dish. Oh, and you should probably try that etoufee as well, as the color of that roux looks as rich as a IPO new-money techies! As a Bay Area foodie, next time I want a true San Francisco dining experience, I'll head to Jake's in Portland!

Our first meal in Portland! We came on a Monday night with that reservation and receded immediately. Had a very kind waitress. The seared salmon and escargot and salmon were all really good. Ambience was very "Manhattan". Will be back. Thanks for welcoming us to Portland.

Came for a quick bite and drink before dinner. I got the happy hour wine, which was a very large pour (8 oz) for only about $6, as well as an oyster shooter and a shrimp louie salad off the happy hour menu. The shrimp louie salad had a decent amount of shrimp and it was fresh and tasty - I would say there was a bit too much dressing and in the future I would ask for it on the side. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive despite being busy serving many other guests.
